Bug Report: Not all lines visible of .doc's

It has been brought to our attention that Crocodoc (the software Canvas uses to display file submissions) does not display the last line of files of the type (dot)doc. This means when inside the Speedgrader you may not see all of your students answers. We have reported this bug but meanwhile we are recommending that you disallow (dot)doc's from being submitted or that you advise your students to put a blank line at the end of their documents. This only applies to assignments that you are allowing students to upload their own files for submissions.

Here are the steps for disallowing doc's from being submitted.
  1. Log in to Canvas and navigate to the course
  2. Click on “Assignments" on the left-hand side of the screen
  3. Choose the assignment you would like to modify by clicking its title
  4. Click “Edit” in the top-right corner
  5. Scroll down until you see “Submission Type”
  6. If "File Uploads" is selected make sure "Restrict Upload File Types" is also checked
  7. Remove “doc” from the list of file types acceptable for this assignment.
  8. Scroll down and click “Update Assignment” to save your changes
