Dear Faculty,

Spring 2016 course evaluations will be available in Canvas to students next Monday, April 11th and remain open through Wednesday, May 4th until midnight. As many of you know, course evaluations are conducted through an online tool that integrates with Canvas.

Here is some key information about course evaluations:
  • Only 16-week courses with published Canvas shells are included.
  • No action is required by you to set up the survey.
  • Students will complete their surveys from within Canvas.
  • Students receive an email with a ‘Certificate of Completion’ for each survey they complete. This can be provided to an instructor for proof of completion.
  • If your Canvas course was unpublished as of Monday, April 11th but has been published since then and you would like to include your students in course evaluations please contact eLearning@coconino.edu with the course information.
  • You will have access to the completion rate of your course evaluations from within Canvas throughout the evaluation period.
  • You will have access to the results of the course evaluations from within Canvas on May 18th.
  • There is a guide in the Resource Center for Faculty on accessing completion rates and responses. Click here for that guide.

We need your help again to make this semester’s response rate even higher!

Here are some things you can do to help:
  • Reassure your students that the results are completely anonymous.
  • Underscore the importance of student feedback to you and the College.
  • Make sure your students are aware of the survey dates and new shorter format.
  • Tell your students where they can go for information about the surveys.
  • Remind your students a few times throughout the evaluation period.
  • Encourage your students to help spread the word and “like,” re-share, and retweet about the surveys from the college’s social media accounts.
